Grand Canyon 2009 Video

Posting this video was a big hassle. This part of the blog will be my rant about Youtube/Warner Music Group (WMG). Since early 2009, Youtube has been deleting/suspending accounts, or removing the sound on videos. WMG claims that they have been losing business because people have been posting videos/songs of Warner artists. I can see why they are doing it because of those stupid idiots who just post music on Youtube so people can convert them into MP3s and put them on their players. For people like me, I like to use the music to make videos and post them on Youtube. I also lost my favorite artists who does covers of songs because of this change. Because of this situation, I had to create a new Youtube account just incase I get in trouble and they delete me. WMG needs to get their stick up their a** out and let the public post their videos on Youtube.

Well now that my rant is over, here is the video of my trip to the Grand Canyon. I had to use Megavideo because they haven't been affected by the WMG yet. I'll post the Youtube version and the Megavideo version just incase Youtube decides to delete my account.

I posted pictures on 2 previous blogs, but with a video, you can experience the trip in a different way. I was inspired by my cousin, Leah to edit my video the way I did. I hope you enjoy this video.

Doomsday

Doomsday is over! I just had my anatomy exam for unit 2, and I feel releaved it's over. I've been studying for this exam for two weeks, and I am burnt out. The question is, "Did I pass!?!" I feel that I did, but it's just a matter of what grade I earned. Hopefully I got an A on my exam and lab practical. I knew a lot of the material on the exam, but just a few that I was uncertain of... Only time will tell. I'm just glad that it's all over with =).

Anatomy

It's almost the end of unit 2 in my anatomy and physiology class, and I'm super stressing out. Let me know if you agree with me... Monday is my anatomy exam and it's on the skeletal and muscular system. Last week, I started memorzing 206 bones and the major landmarks (the skull alone has 100+ landmarks). This week, we learned the muscles of the human body, which we have to know about 50+ for the exam. Not only we have to know the name of it, but we have to know the origin from it starts and where it ends; also what each muscle does.... GGGRRRR!!!! Why can't we split the skeletal and musular system into two different exams? The whole day today, my fellow classmates where expressing how stupid it is to have both these systems in one exam. Do you agree?

On top of this hell week, I have a physiology exam the following day, and I haven't even started to study for that. I'm putting all my time in anatomy. The good news about next week beinging over is that I won't have two exams on the same week till finals.

Grand Canyon Trip

For President’s Day weekend, a group of my friends went to the Grand Canyon. Here is the story of what happened. On February 12, 2009, my friend Josh and I flew into LA. Since my two other friends had to work the next day, Josh and I spent the whole day walking around Santa Monica and Third Street. Chris and Jamie suggested we should eat at this deli called Bay City and order the Godmother. As soon as we got there, we noticed that there is nowhere to sit. Our original plan was to walk to the beach and enjoy this wonderful sandwich, but we got caught in a rainstorm. Within 2 minutes, Josh and I were soaked. Instead, we decided to find a movie theater to dry off and enjoy our sandwiches; which we didn’t because our meal got cold and soaked. By the way, we watched the movie Taken (MUST SEE!!!).

As soon as my friends got off work, we headed out. The drive was going well, and we were making great time. Around 3 in the morning, we hit a dead stop. It was getting late, and we all fell asleep in the car. When we woke up around 7 AM, we still were at a holdup. We later found out that an 18 wheeler overturned and blocked the entire freeway. The pictures below shows where we spent the night and the truck that overturned.

We arrived at our campsite around 12:30 after we enjoyed a hearty meal at a mom and pop restaurant called Smokey’s. After we settled in, we decided to walk to the canyon to enjoy the scenery. I wish I took pictures of sunset because the rest of the time we were there, it was overcast =/. When we came back from the canyon, we noticed that there were a bunch of ravens at our campsite. They broke through our cooler and ate our hamburger meat, hotdogs, lunch meat, eggs, and tomatoes; basically $60 worth of food. We all were devastated that this happened, but still laughed about it. The rest of the trip, we kept talking about how we hate ravens and we just started throwing snowballs every time we saw one. The picture below was taken the first time we saw the canyon.

As we were planning this trip, we all knew it was going to be around 10°, but we never experience that type of cold before. All I can say it was really unpleasant. When it was time to sleep, there was enough space in the tent for 6 people. As the night went on, my friend Ray kept getting closer to me for body heat. My natural reaction was to move away from him which pushed me closer to my friend Josh. When we woke up in the morning, we complained that we felt bunched up and notice that we can fit another person between Ray and the tent. The rest of the trip, we started calling Ray, “Half tent Ray”.

Overall the trip turned out great. We enjoyed the landscape, and able to throw back some beers. The rest of the pictures are myself cooking spam for breakfast, our friend Melissa enjoying the canyon, and the people who went on the trip, minus Jamie and Melissa.

The pictures on the blog were provided by Jamie. I still have to do some post processing of my pictures and I’ll post them up when I’m done. Also as soon as I get the video footage edited, I’ll post that too.

Off to the Grand Canyon

It has been a stressful and tiring 2 weeks. It was exam week, and I had an anatomy exam, anatomy practical (lab exam), and a physiology exam back to back. I got my scores, and I got 2 A's and 1 B. I'm content with my B, but now I know how to study for each class. Hopefully I can pull straight A's for now on.

To let out the stress I built up, my buddies from high school are taking a mini trip to the Grand Canyon. These buddies are the same ones I traveld with in Europe (minus Mike). We are gonna try to rough it, but it supposed to be snowing the whole time we are there. If we can't bare the cold, we will try to find a hotel to stay in. Either way, I'm just glad to get out of Pittsburg... See you when I get back =).
